Originally from Wisconsin, Strunk has spent a lifetime telling important stories, often with heart. His films have been screened in competitions worldwide. He has short-listed distinguished awards in fiction and won filmmaking grants from Kodak and Fotokem. Strunk has guest-lectured on filmmaking at festivals and universities across the country and holds a BA in film production and an MFA in creative writing. He lives in Los Angeles. In 2016, he produced and directed The Comics Trip, a travel show exploring comic book stores and creators across the country, for Lionsgate/Comic-Con HQ. He also directed An Elder Man, and co-produced and directed The Green Standard, a documentary on cannabis that has been garnering awards on the festival circuit since its 2016 premiere. Other recent clients include Chris Hardwick's Nerdist Industries, Legendary Pictures, Disney, The Jim Henson Company, Lionsgate Entertainment, Mission Control Media, The Music Center, Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, Escapist, Defy Media, Screen Junkies, Awkward Family Photos, the Mona Lisa Foundation and the Smithsonian Institution's Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Strunk has a nose for a great story, visuals and musical elements. He also plays in a band, which is cool, but most important to RPM is that he has marched across Mexican deserts, Colombian hills, the streets of Houston and a thousand hard-to-find places—and always finds a way to tell the stories of the people who really know what's going on and have lived the life.
